2018 Black filly (Risque Remarque x Eowyn's Ring)
This spectacular filly is a Homozygous True Black (EEaa) with the most elegant of conformation and a stunningly beautiful head and eye. She was born a blue black: an unusual color, being as black as ink instead of the normal mousey color for black foals.
Her sire is the Calumet Farm owned 16.3h Frame Overo Thoroughbred stallion, Risque Remarque, by Ellusive Quest. He is by Sonny’s Solo Halo (unraced) by Halo. Halo is the sire of Sunny’s Halo ($1,247,791), and Preakness and Kentucky Derby winner Sunday Silence ($4,968,554). Sonny’s Solo Halo is out of Softly, the winner of $112,568 who has produced 100% winners to runners. Ellusive Quest’s racing career was cut due to the untimely death of his brother Racey Remarque. In a short race career Ellusive Quest ran fourth in his first career start, and had the fastest time out of 27 racehorses for official work at Turf Paradise as a three-year-old.
Blue Halo's dam (deceased) is a fabulous PUT IT BACK daughter, with the size, movement, and conformation of a top show hunter. PUT IT BACK is also the sire of Brazilian Triple Crown winner BAL A BALI, who shattered two track records and nearly set a world record at a mile. This filly is her first born, and Blue got her stunning looks, with the substance and power of her sire. Blue Halo has an incredible head, with little ears, wide forehead, and short face, powerful hip, unbeatable topline, and outstanding movement. Should mature 16.2h.
